You know that ‘’Hannibal the Conqueror’’ movie that Vin Diesel’s been touting for the last decade or so? Still happening, apparently – and the brawny baldie hopes to get it up before God takes back the Earth.
Diesel told reporters last week – there to interview him about “Babylon A.D” – that it’s his “dream project” and he isn’t prepared to let it go.
Diesel’s so confident that it will get made that he’s in fact announced production on an animated prequel film – one which he’ll direct.
"You know my love of animation, you know my love of the [Ralph] Bakshi films and how I was always a fan of that medium," Diesel tells Sci-Fi Wire. "I'm directing an animated Hannibal that will serve as the prequel to the [live-action] film. So it's Hannibal as a boy. So it's like the boy and an elephant. It's for BET, actually, which will be great fun. Great, great voices [including Diesel as Hannibal]."
Last week, Diesel told Coming Soon that he’ll be directing a “Fast and Furious” prequel – something that’ll probably appear on the DVD.
