"Stomp the Yard" star Columbus Short has confirmed rumours - rumours I didn't even know were out there, but then I have been smooching the wet end of a whisky bottle for the past week, not surprising something slipped by me - that he's up for a role in ''Lethal Weapon 5''.

"We've been talking about it", the actor tells IGN Movies in a video interview. "Joel Silver talked to me about it, and it was like 'Um, yeah! I'll do Lethal Weapon with Danny [Glover] and Mel [Gibson]."

Short says he'd be playing Martaugh's son.

"Joel says it'd be a great role", Short says, adding that they're "trying to do it right now. They're trying to fast track it right now".
