Remember the rumours suggesting Josh Brolin was in talks to play a role in ''Terminator Salvation''?
Well, seems those rumours were true, the ‘’No Country for Old Men’’ scene-stealer did anyone nearly sign on to star in the third sequel to the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring classic.
‘’I talked to Christian [Bale] for a couple hours,” the actor tells MTV. “I really liked the script though I hear that’s not what they filmed. The one I read was very interesting and dark. Ultimately though I didn’t think it felt right.”
Assumingly, Bale was offered the role of Marcus (the Terminator) a role that eventually went to Aussie actor Sam Worthington.
And from the sounds of it, Brolin made the right choice.
“I saw [Bale] recently and I asked him how it was and he said, ‘it’s alright.’” he laughed.
Um, it’s ‘alright’? It’s just ‘alright’? Oh god… that doesn’t say much for it, does it!!?
(Editor's Note : Hey, Clint here - While I want to thank Ant for posting these couple of stories today whilst I deal with some family shit, I don't agree with one aspect of this one, that one man's strange and short response to a question like "How is it?" is the final word on whether the movie will be any good. And not just this movie - but any movie. Until you've seen the finished product, you can't assume anything - let alone form an opinion. From what I've seen so far - not to mention the awesome marketing campaign behind it - "Terminator Salvation" is looking good. Yes, it could be awful, but I don't think it will be. I think it'll be a solid, solid film. I doubt fellow Aussie Sam Worthington would sign up for a dog. I really doubt it. But that's besides the point - we don't know how Bale said 'It's alright' - fuck, it could've been tongue-in-cheek with a giant smile planted on his face - but more to the point, it doesn't matter. Unlike molesters, films are innocent until they're proven guilty. More on this soon...
