Salt not Erika

Yesterday our friends at Cinema Blend relayed news from the latest issue of Production Weekly suggesting Phil Noyce’s spy-thriller, originally titled “Edwin A. Salt”, had been renamed “Erika Salt”.

Seems not. According to a source on the production, that’s not the title.

"Not true...at present Sony prefers the name SALT”, we’re told. “In the new screenplay, Angelina's character is called Evelyn A Salt."

The fictional film, starring Angelina Jolie, centers on a CIA officer who is fingered as a Russian sleeper spy. She eludes capture by superiors who are convinced she is out to assassinate the president. While trying to reunite with her family, she struggles to prove someone else is the traitor. The fictional film centers on a CIA officer who is fingered as a Russian sleeper spy.
