Edward James Olmos ("Battlestar Galactica") and Danny Trejo ("Grindhouse") will star in the slacker comedy “Hollywood Players”, a new film from writer/director Joaquin Perea.

The pic, to lens in Los Angeles, follows two young brothers who inadvertently videotape a suspicious transaction that accidentally gets released on the web and the hilarious chaos that ensues when the whole neighbourhood tries to hunt them down to get the alleged goods.

Trejo (“Sin City”, “Sherry Baby”) previously worked with Perea on his 2006 thriller “The Devil Inside”.

Interestingly enough, Trejo turned down a role in Olmos’s “American Me” a few years back believing the subject matter – the Mexican Mafia - to be too controversial to put on screen.

Shooting begins July 13 on “Hollywood Players”.
