The filmmaker tells Mania, ‘’I haven't thought about it. I'm trying to grow and work in genres that I'm most comfortable working in. I got started in Charlie's Angels, and I wish them every success with another sequel, but these are the films that I grew up feeling very passionate about. The Terminator. Blade Runner. The Kubrick pictures.’’
If those ‘’Terminator Salvation’’ reviews are anything to go by, McG mightn’t want to burn his bridges with the “Charlie’s Angels” crowd (namely producer and star Drew Barrymore).
Meantime, more “Terminator Salvation” reviews have surfaced online. Here’s a taste of what they’re saying :
All Headline News says, “With all due respect to the film's single-mindedness, a hopelessly uninteresting, one-note lead performance from Christian Bale quickly dries up any Terminator salivation”
The Miami Herald says, “Terminator Salvation is also the most timid in the series. There's no invention in it, no sense of discovery. Only the impressively orchestrated action sequences feel fresh.”
The San Francisco Chronicle says, “Who ever thought in 2003 that we'd look back on Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines as the good old days?”
The Orlando Sentinel says, ‘’ It's far from awful, but Salvation is close to joyless, something easily predicted when this redundant film was first announced.’’
