Update! : Latino Review have discovered that the trades' proclamation that Roland Kickinger has been cast as the new "Conan the Barbarian" is false.
The original story is below...
This is sweeter than the exterior of a sticky hive...
Roland Kickinger, the Austrian bodybuilder/actor that played Arnold Schwarzenegger in the A&E Biopic “See Arnold Run”, and later doubled for the Oak in “Terminator Salvation” (they were Roland’s biceps you were seeing; Arnold merely provided the mug), has been cast as “Conan the Barbarian” in the long-gestating reboot of the Robert Howard yarn.
Though hardly a big name (if anything, the 41-year-old is a name on the muscle circuit and that’s about it), Kickinger's a great choice. Not only does Kickinger bear a striking resemblance to Schwarzenegger (which goes without saying, having played the man… twice), but he’s brisk, brawny and bad-ass enough to pull off the sword-wielding hero. Heck, I’m sure even Schwarzenegger has given him the thumbs up! I do wonder though if the Lerner's had to be talked into it...
Shooting will begin in the fall at Avi Lerner’s Bulgaria-based studio, says THR's Risky Business blog. Marcus Nispel, who helmed New Line’s "Friday the 13th" reboot, is set to direct.
