Dibb not Spider Director

Update! : Saul Dibb's agents tell Moviehole that The Hollywood Reporter got it wrong. He is not directing this film.

Director Saul Dibb (“The Duchess”) is in negotiations to direct “Spider Dance”, a period story about an American woman's colorful exploits Down Under. The film would be shot partly in Australia and partly in Germany.

The leads are yet to be cast, though “Indiana Jones” fave John Rhys-Davies is already onboard to play a supporting role.

The Peter Sumner-penned flick centers on a young American who arrives in a repressed part of Sydney with an extensive entourage of actors and other celebrities in tow and proceeds to shock the locals with her uninhibited ways. The film also traces the arc of the woman's addictions and romantic pursuits.

With the film not expected to lens until next year it could be a few more months before we hear of any additional casting.
