You’ll recall a few days back IESB ran a report suggesting “Ninja Assassin” director James McTeigue is up for a new “Superman” movie.

Sounded plausible enough – Warner love McTeigue (especially his new film), but they also love the Wachowski Bros’ a whole lot more, and they’re apparently onboard to produce said Man of Steel flick.

Slashfilm had the opportunity to ask McTeigue about the rumour – and he didn’t exactly deny it.

“You know… I… I would say… I’ll keep you guessing, actually. It’s good not to dispel every rumor, right?”

As the aforementioned site suggests, ‘’ James had been so forthcoming on previous questions, and quick to deny false rumors. I hate to read too much into his answer (or as it may be, his non-answer) but his hesitation seems to suggest there might be something to it’’.
