Ketai directs 30 Days of Night sequel

Ben Ketai will direct “30 Days of Night: Dark Days”, a sequel to David Slade’s fuck-tastic 2007 vampire flick, says Bloody Disgusting.

The story, which Ketai worked on with “30 days” author Steve Niles, sees Stella (the character played by Melissa George in the original – will she return?) joining a group of vampire hunters in order to get revenge on Lilith – the vamp responsible for the attack on her Alaska town.

The flick, which will likely get some kind of theatrical release, is slated to begin production in Vancouver this October.

It’s sad that Slade won’t be back (he’s too busy playing with ‘glittery’ vampires over on “Eclipse”) but Director Ketai helmed the web series “30 Days of Night: Blood Trails” and “30 Days of Night: Dust to Dust” so we’re in good hands.

“30 Days of Night” is the story of an isolated Alaskan town that is plunged into darkness for a month each year when the sun sinks below the horizon. As the last rays of light fade, the town is attacked by a bloodthirsty gang of vampires bent on an uninterrupted orgy of destruction. Only the small town’s husband-and-wife Sheriff team (Josh Hartnett, Melissa George) stand between the survivors and certain destruction.
