Agent : “Hey Nick, I know you missed out on T4, but I’ve got you the lead role in a sequel just as exciting…. Are you sitting down?â€
Stahl : “Sitting… hit me big guy!â€
Agent: “Mirrors 2. Straight to DVD horror film. Ya know, the one about the scary glass mirrors and such?…. Nick, are you there!? Hello?â€
Nick Stahl, who played John Connor in “Terminator 3 : Rise of the Machinesâ€, seems to have slid down the stepladder a fair since discovering he’d be replaced by Christian Bale for “Terminator Salvation†– which is a pity, because, and I don’t think anyone who has seen the young actor’s work in such films as “Bully†or TVs “Carnivale†will argue, he’s just as good (dare if say, if not better) an actor as the growling Brit. Alas, at least he’s still in work – unlike, say, a few other ex-“Terminator†vets.
Bloody Disgusting says Stahl will be doing time with his fear-provoking reflection in Fox’s direct-to-disc “Mirrors†sequel. Victor Garcia, director of (another recent DTV horror sequel) “Return to House on Haunted Hillâ€, will helm.
Stahl will play Max, a young man who, after losing his fiancee in a car crash, reluctantly takes a job as a night watchman at his father’s Mayflower Department Store. When his co-workers are killed off in gruesome and horrible ways and Max begins to see a mysterious young woman in all the store’s mirrors, desperate to communicate with him, he fears he’s losing his mind, or that he may be the next victim.
