Remember last week when I told you there’d been a couple of pink slips handed out on the set of The CW’s struggling “Melrose Place” reboot? (and the lucky recipients were Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Colin Egglesfield!) Well this week, there’s seemingly a few letters of intent being passed around.
In talks to replace Colin Egglesfield on the show, says my bud Michael Ausiello, is “Cougar Town” star Nick Zano.
Zano, who also appears in the latest “Final Destination” flick, would be playing a doctor who works with Lauren (Stephanie Jacobsen) and Michael (Thomas Calabro) at Wilshire Memorial Hospital.
Executive producer Todd Slavkin recently described the character as “irreverent and funny… He will move into the [apartment] building. He doesn’t take life very seriously. Medicine can be very fun as well as serious to him, and he ends up lightening up Lauren.”
Zano’s “Melrose” gig won’t conflict with his “Cougar Town” gig because [spoiler alert] he’s all finished with Courteney the Milf for the moment.
