Anthony Hopkins has jumped aboard director Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor”, says Variety. He’ll play Odin, the father of Thor (Chris Hemsworth, “Star Trek”) and Loki (Tom Hiddleston, “Wallander”).

Natalie Portman is also set to play Thor's love interest, Jane Foster.

The May 20, 2011 release tracks partly disabled med student Dr. Donald Blake's discovery of his Norse god alter ego, the hammer-swinging Thor.
