As rumoured last year, Columbia are moving forward with a third “Men in Black”.
Etan Cohen (“Tropic Thunder”) will pen the script for the film – which will likely reunite Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, though no deal is in place for either actor (Interestingly enough, Columbia has also been talking to Smith about sequels to “Bad Boys” and “Independence Day” of late; might a three-picture deal with the studio be out of the question?), according to Variety.
Now that Columbia have lost the James Bond series to MGM, they seem to be puffing breath into some of their other franchises – hoping they’ll make up for – financially speaking – the dollars they’ll lose to MGM over Jimmy B. The studio has “Spider-Man 4”, “Ghostbusters III”, “Ghost Rider II”, “Hancock II”, and a second sequel to “The Da Vinci Code” also in the pipeline.
