Despite rumours it was scheduled to hit shelves in time for Christmas, Sony has announced it won’t be releasing “Michael Jackson’s This is It” until First Quarter 2010.
The film was originally only due to run in theatres for a couple of weeks, but now that the film’s DVD release has been delayed, it’ll likely hump a cream screen for quite a while longer.
Retailers have been trying to push Sony into releasing the film closer to the holiday, but they’re not budging – Variety says the pic will debut on DVD and Blu-Ray next year.
"This Is It" grossed $20.1 million in its first day at the worldwide box office -- a solid, but not record-breaking figure.
