Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will co-host the 82nd Annual Academy Awards.
An early push for the "It's Complicated" DVD or are the coots at the Academy actually switched on this month? Whatever the case, suddenly a night without (Hugh knocked it back) a hirsute mutant Peter Allen doesn't sound all that bad... not when we'll have a couple of, er, Jerks hosting Hollywood's night-of-nights!
"We think the team of Steve and Alec are the perfect pair of hosts for the Oscars," said Oscar telecast producers Bill Mechanic and Adam Shankman. "Steve will bring the experience of having hosted the show in the past and Alec will be a completely fresh personality for this event."
"I am happy to co-host the Oscars with my enemy Alec Baldwin," said an always jovial Martin, hosted the 73rd and 75th Academy Awards shows, earning an Emmy nomination for the first stint.
"I don't play the banjo but I'm thrilled to be hosting the Oscars - it's the opportunity of a lifetime," said first-timer Baldwin.
Should be a great night! (if it isn't, I'll just go back and delete this post, so nobody'll know I said it would be)
