Angels in the Infield

“Charlie’s Angels” news is a bit like the tar pits in Los Angeles – now and then something rises to the surface, but generally, it lays dormant.

Last we heard was that Drew Barrymore was interested in possibly doing a third “Charlie’s Angels” film, but seems the actress/producer has reconsidered the medium the next ‘Angels’ would play on.

Justin Long’s quilt sharer has teamed with “Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles”’ Josh Friedman to do a new “Angels” for TV. He’ll write and executive produce, she’ll produce (and possibly – fingers crossed – pop up on the show now and then?), says Variety.

It’s not the first time someone’s tried to relaunch the Aaron Spelling hit for TV (Fox’s “Angel’s 88”, to star a then-unknown Tea Leoni, never made it to air), but with Barrymore’s name attached, this one’s got a fighting chance at survival.
