Brian Cox fans might want to hold onto their clickers.

The veteran actor – who, for my money, gives the best performance of his career as Hannibal Lecter in Michael Mann’s highly-underrated “Manhunter” – looks to nab two rather cushy roles.

Movie Cultists got wind that the versatile actor (seen recently in Warner Premiere’s criminally underrated – do I sense a trend here with Cox’s projects? – “Trick R’Treat”) will likely be strapping on the stripes again to play the ringleader of the “Super Troopers” in Broken Lizard’s long-awaited sequel (or is it a prequel?).

According to the Lizard’s independent financers have coughed up the coin for the movie, now all they’ve got to do is to convince Fox to make it. Should be easy, no? being that it’s already paid for?

In equally cool news, or rather Aint it Cool News, Latauro’s heard a whisper that Cox might be up for a role in Guillermo del Toro’s “The Hobbit”. Which role? That of the Dwarves (yes, intentional plural)!

Brilliant choice; get Cox to press the pointy end of the biro down on the paper now!
