My brother spent about 12 months (or more) up in Queensland working on "The Pacific". And though he was pretty much gun-to-head threatened not to reveal too much about it, he couldn't contain the fact that it was quite an amazing production to be part of. He also sings the praises of the first few episodes, which he, and the rest of the cast, saw a while ago. And he spoke highly of the imported cast, namely James Badge Dale (He was 'Chase' on "24"), William Sadler (Who he, amusingly enough, recognized only as 'Death' from "Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey"), and young Joe Mazello, who you'll all remember as Richard Attenborough's grandson in "Jurassic Park" . But the 'real' star of the show, he said, is real-deal war vet, Dale Dye, who got the cast in shape... and essentially scared them into thinking they were fighting a real war out there. Sure, he met Tom Hanks... but it was Dale Dye you'd hear most about. And not surprisingly, look up the Wikipedia page for the man, he's led quite the life. Bottom Line : The show sounds like it'll be as good, if not better, than "Band of Brothers".
But anyway, "The Pacific" is finally - seems like age's since the bro filmed it - about to hit the air (March in the states, so probably shortly after here in Australia), and the second trailer has just appeared online.
