Two of the entertainment world’s most popular Stephen’s/Steven’s – no, not Geoffries and Baldwin; though I don’t doubt they’d be rushed to the front of the line at Pizza Hut – sirs King and Spielberg look set to team on a series version of the author’s recently released book ‘’Under the Domeâ€.
The book, which has earned strong reviews as a return to form for the prolific author, revolves around the drama that unfolds after an invisible force field suddenly descends on a small vacation town in Maine. As the locals fight for their survival, the town descends into warring factions led by enigmatic characters.
Dreamworks are currently meeting with writers, says Variety. It’s likely the series will air on cable.
Film fanatics will recall that Spielberg and King have collaborated in the past. They were developing “The Talismanâ€, based on King’s 1984 novel, as a film, and later a mini-series, at one stage. Due to budgetary reasons, the project was canned.
