Elba joins Thor

Rising star Idris Elba (“Taken”, “The Losers”) has joined the stout and starry cast of director Kenneth Branagh’s “Thor”.

Heat Vision says the actor, most recently seen in the excruciating thriller “Obsession” with Beyonce Knowles, will play Heimdall; as the guardian of Asgard, he stands on the BiFrost Bridge ready to defend the city from intruders.

The flick, starring Australia’s Chris Hemsworth as the Norse God, begins filming in L.A this January.
