I’m a big Jean-Claude Van Damme film. Say what you will about a few of his efforts, but no one can deny just how damn entertaining say, “Kickboxer”, “Bloodsport”, “Universal Soldier” and even the flicks he did with Peter Hyams – “TimeCop” and “Sudden Death” – were. And surely, after his amazing performance in last year’s “J.C.V.D”, he coaxed a few peeps from Sly’s camp to his? He’d had to have, that was likely the bravest, most compelling performance I’ve seen from an action hero since, well, Bronson was doing his thing.

Now Van Damme’s out to conquer the DGA with “The Eagle Path”, another not-so-typical-Van-Damme project that marks the big guy’s second stint behind the mega-phone.

And it looks quite good - - wouldn’t be surprised if the big guy, what with “Universal Soldier : Regeneration” also coming out, is about to catch that much-hankered-for second wave.
