Its thanksgiving today in the states (sadly, not here in Australia – thus, I’m munching on my usual multigrain salad sandwich) so news will be at a minimum. That probably suits you just fine – since none of you are on the internet today, right? You’re all off scoffing down turkey and playing ball with the relatives? Lucky bastards!

For those that are still around – hi! My name’s Clint! I like long walks off the pier, Joel Schumacher movies, Roxy Music, and skinny lattes – here’s a bit of gossip that did surface today :

Jeremy Renner, he of “The Hurt Locker” (and ‘I auditioned for Mad Max 4’ fame), is rumoured to be playing one Clint Barton aka Hawkeye – the popular Marvel comics character - in a future film. It’s anyone’s guess which film though?

"Hawkeye could be interesting," Renner told Empire Magazine (via Coming Soon). "They're going to send me some stuff on it, see what it is, but I think they're pretty awesome, trying to make superhero movies almost plausible and not just some fantasy thing."

The guestimate is that Renner would likely cameo – a’la Samuel L.Jackson/Nick Fury/”Iron Man” – as Hawkeye in the upcoming “Thor”, before segwaying into his own feature. But who knows?

(Should Renner have gotten the gong to don the arrow belt, he’ll likely be back for the forthcoming “Avengers” film too – that’s the star-studded flick that’ll team superheroes Iron Man, Hulk, Captain America, Thor, Nick Fury… and whoever else. )
