So Nicolas Cage mightn't be onboard the "Ghost Rider" sequel/reboot? Is anyone really surprised? I mean, isn't the whole point of doing something-over losing everything associated with the original film, i.e the film that didn't work? Whatever the case, Cage is telling MTV that he's yet to be contacted about the film, let alone set his peepers on David Goyer's script. Considering Cage hasn't even had a beer with the chaps bringing back Johnny Blaze, I'd say it's safe to say the new "Ghost Rider" flick will likely go the same route as the looming "Fantastic Four", "Superman", "Daredevil" and "Crow" remakes - new cast, new tone, new helmer. But don't feel too sorry for Nic, he's got, um, "National Treasure 3" in his future.

- Former "Prison Break" semi-regular Marshall Allman ('LJ') has joined the cast of TVs "True Blood". According to THR, Allman will play Tommy Mickens, “the long-lost younger brother of Sam Merlotte (Sam Trammell) who works at a Tire Depot in Arkansas”.

- Amoeba has a great interview up with David Lynch where he discusses the much-hankered-for deleted scenes from "Twin Peaks : Fire Walk With Me", which he says might - finally - hit DVD next year. But, of course, we've all heard this before haven't we?

- On the subject of a "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" sequel, star Christopher Lloyd tells Den of Geek that he's "heard talk" but hasn't been approached to reprise Judge Doom as of yet. "Judge Doom was dissolved in that liquid, totally. So I don't know how they'd bring him back plausibly. But I've thought about it, because I'd love to do it again. I was thinking that if he comes back he would be in some manner very distorted. Physically in his face, and everything. He wouldn't come back like himself, or he'd be a toon that had sort of melted."

- Sony Pictures Releasing tell Moviehole that the remake of "The Stepfather" (with Dylan Baker in the title role; a role made famous in the 80s by the terrific Terry O'Quinn) will be going straight-to-DVD in Australia. You can pick it up May 19, 2010.

- Jeremy Renner ("The Hurt Locker") tells Superhero Hype that he has been contacted about playing superhero Hawkeye in "The Avengers", and is very interested, but at this stage there's no deal in place. The actor tells the site that Marvel don't want to cast anyone in the role until they hire a director for the superhero mash-up movie. "They don't really want to force-feed the director, 'Here's the whole cast.' It's a big role so they didn't want to do that to the director, so I think they might wait. I know they're interested, I'm interested, so we'll see if it works out."

- "Ed" and "Love Monkey" star Tom Cavanagh will play Ranger Smith in the forthcoming live-action/CGI "Yogi Bear" flick (I tell ya, I still think they should've cast Dan Aykroyd as Smith - not as Yogi).

- Donald Trump will have a cameo in Oliver Stone's "Wall Street" sequel (The Daily Mail)

- "The Hurt Locker" has been awarded Best Film at The Gothams (Screen Daily).

- New photos from "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1", "The Karate Kid",

- Tobey Maguire hopes the character of Peter Parker evolves in the soon-to-shoot "Spider-Man 4". Talking to The Boston Globe, the "Brothers" star says he hopes to "be able to evolve the character in a new direction. He'll still be Peter Parker, but I hope I can move him forward a bit and take him to a place where there will be new challenges for me as an actor."

- Ryan Reynolds tells MTV Movies Blog that "The Green Lantern" won't - unlike most other superhero flicks - be a "labored" origin story. "It is [an origin story] to a certain degree, but it's not a labored origin story, where the movie [truly] begins in the third act... We find out Hal is the guy fairly early on, and the adventure begins", says the actor.

- The recent thriller "A Perfect Getaway", starring Milla Jovovich and Steve Zahn, will be heading straight to DVD downunder. It's now available for pre-order at EzyDVD.

- STYD reports that Summit Entertainment has picked up "Invasion", a spec script by Ben Magid about "a wicked subway accident in Los Angeles in which the survivors (the film's protagonists) climb from the wreckage to find the, now "snowy," city in ruins. What they encounter topside is bodies, mobs of people in a state of panic and acidic goo." Eli Roth will produce.

- Brad Pitt is gung-ho for the "Inglourious Basterds" prequels (The Playlist)

- This should be cool! Joseph Kosinski and Sean Bailey, the director and producer of Disney’s new “Tron: Legacy,” and scribe Travis Beacham are teaming up for a remake of Disney classic "The Black Hole" (1979). The original - which most of us played on loop when it first hit VHS in the early 80s - followed a group of space explorers aboard the USS Palomino who come across a lost ship, the USS Cygnus, hovering outside a black hole. Inside the Cygnus, the explorers meet a scientist, commanding an army of faceless robots, who explains his crew deserted him as he planned to go through the black hole. The explorers soon discover that the robots are the remnants of the former crew and that the scientist has no intention of letting them leave (Heat Vision).

- John Madden ("Killshot") is in talks to direct Columbia Pictures' redo of the classic musical "My Fair Lady". Keira Knightley has long been tipped for the lead role, but at this stage there's no deal in place (Variety).

- A "Twilight" TV series? one that'll star Robert Pattinson and earn him a sumly $1.5 million per episode? *cough* bullshit *cough* (Starpulse).

- Warner Bros have their "Harry Potter" replacement : The shingle has acquired “Beautiful Creatures,” the first of a five-novel series by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl that is published Dec. 1 by Little, Brown. Richard LaGravanese ("P.S, I Love You") is set to write the script and direct the first film (Variety).

- Nicole Ritchie ("Kids in America") will star in a new sitcom for ABC. In it, Lionel's kid plays a professional woman with complicated family relationships and struggling to figure out what role she'll take as her life and her family evolve (Variety).
