- Here's Leona Lewis singing the theme song to "Avatar" - hope the 'STOP' button on your WinAmp is functioning! (It's enough to make ya ears bleed!)

- "Paranormal Activity" holds the record for the second biggest horror film opening (the first being "The Blair Witch Project") of all time in Australia. Locally, the film pocketed a sumly $2.7 million on it's first weekend of release.

- MGM don't just like their "Red Dawn" remake - they love it! (Risky Business)

- The Aussie Zombie flick "Deader Country", starring genre vet Ted V. Mikels, is available to buy from Amazon

- Daniel Radcliffe will bare all - twice! - in the upcoming "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" (SMH)

- Black Voices have some exclusive stills from the Chris Rock-produced "Death at a Funeral"

- io9 talks to "District 9" creature-designer David Meng.

- Set Pics of Natalie Portman filming Darren Aronofsky's "Black Swan" have surfaced online

- Sounds like Mel Gibson's getting ready to shoot his next film (Movieline).

- Are The Wachowski's currently filming a futuristic war movie? Maybe, though the consensus seems to be that they're merely shooting test footage for the upcoming production (/Film)

- Last month, Miley Cyrus was rumoured to be a up for a canoodle with her protector in a remake of the Kevin Costner/Whitney Houston hit "The Bodyguard". Now, a dubious rumour doing the rounds suggests Oscar Winner Jennifer Hudson is said to be atop of the list to headline the film, with Ryan Reynolds the hot favourite to play Farmer. Take it with a grain of salt...

- Former "24" star Elisha Cuthbert has joined the cast of ABC's "The Forgotten". The Canadian beauty will play Maxine Denver, a strong and successful Chicago professional who is forced to put her skepticism of "amateur detectives" aside when The Forgotten Network begins investigating a case close to home. Cuthbert's first episode will be broadcast in February, according to Coming Soon.

- Rumours persist that the fourth "Resident Evil" movie may be pushed back to 2011 (STYD).

- Stan Lee has confirmed via his Twitter account that he will - not surprisingly - have a cameo in "Thor".

- "Death Race 2 : Frankenstein Lives", filming in Eastern Europe early next year (with my boss being one of the producers - no, I will not forward on your resume; they have a Frankenstein!), will be directed by Roel Renie ("The Marine 2 ") (Variety).

- TMU is fueling action-adventure film "War Birds." The pic, directed by Michael Chait, follows an Air Force veteran-turned-reckless airshow re-enactment pilot as he gets pulled into the underground culture of illegal, real-life aerial combat (The Hollywood Reporter)

- The next slate of hand-drawn animation films from Walt Disney have been revealed (/Film)

- Eli Roth offers a wee update on his next film "Endangered Species" (MTV).

- Scarlet Fire Entertainment is set to produce a film adaptation of Brit scribe Adam Hamdy's comic, "The Hunter." Hamdy will adapt the screenplay, the story of a superhero battling baddies in a world of organized crime (The Hollywood Reporter).

- The long-gestating Johnny Depp/Tim Burton flick "Dark Shadows" will shoot next September/October, according to it's producer (Sci-Fi Wire)

- Mali Elfman at Screen Crave has just completed her first film, "Do Not Disturb". You can read all about it here! (Looks great Mali, congratulations!)

- TV faves Julie Benz ("Dexter"), Zach Gilford ("Friday Night Lights"), Nikki DeLoach ("North Shore") and Elizabeth Mitchell ("V", "Lost") have joined the cast of writer/director Matthew Leutwyler's "Answers to Nothing".

- Duncan Jones' "Moon" will hit Blu-Ray in Australia on Feb 24, 2010 (EzyDVD)
