More join Hill’s St. Vincent

One of the funnest interviews I’ve ever done was with Walter Hill, the veteran filmmaker whose many credits include such classics as “48 Hours” (and its sequel), “The Warriors”, “Streets of Fire” and “Alien” (which he co-wrote). I’m a huge fan of Hill’s – but I’ll admit, he hasn’t really done anything in recent years (“Supernova” anyone?! How about “Undisputed”!?) to warrant the adoration, really.
Maybe his next flick “St. Vincent”, starring comeback, er, kid Mickey Rourke, will remind us all how great Hill once was?

There must be something in the flick… or rather, the script… because a couple more heavyweights just joined the cast. According to Twitch, Oscar Winner Forest Whitaker, the always-brilliant Ray Winstone (“The Departed”) and Asian stunner Gong Li (“Miami Vice”) have signed on the dotted line.

The Cameron Young-written pic will star Rourke (re-teaming with Hill for the first time since “Johnny Handsome”) as Hitman Vincent Novena, an assassin who goes deep undercover portraying a priest to get close enough to kill his gangland traitor target. He soon discovers that playing the part of a good man is more dangerous than being a mob killer ever was.
