If 2009 was there the year of the Na’vi, then 2010 must surely – what with the umpteen werewolf movies scheduled for release – be the year of the Lycanthrope.
And here’s another to add to the already stout list of hairy blockbusters (that includes “The Wolfman”, “The Twilight Saga : Eclipse”, “The Ghouly Boys”, “Jack and Diane”, “Benighted”, “Freeborn” and the forthcoming TV series “Howl” from Fox and Dreamworks TV) : “Ride into Terror”.
Writer/Director Tony Luke Jr (“The Nail”) says it’s “It's the first script that I co-wrote with my son Michael . It's about strippers ,bikers, werewolves and vampires with a lot of action. I will be playing the character of Wolf, the outlaw biker. I am going to be working with a stunt coordinator who is very good friends with Bruce Campbell. We have not approached Bruce yet but the stunt coordinator read the script and he thinks Bruce would love it.”
Luke expects to start filming sometime in the Fall. “We should start shooting this sometime in September 2010”, he says.
The filmmaker kindly adds, “I have to tell you, I can’t wait to see your [Werewolf] film. I'm a big fan of Eric Stoltz and C. Thomas Howell”.
As we do yours, Tony!
