“General Hospital” fave (yeah…I know, WTF!?) James Franco has signed - here, here and, er, here- to star in Danny ’28 Days Later’ Boyle’s next flick, “127 Hours”, according to Production Weekly.
Penned by Boyle-staple Simon Beaufoy, it’s the tale of Aron Ralston, a mountain climber who chopped off his own arm to free himself after being trapped by a giant rock for five days.
If I recall correctly, Boyle-fave Cillian Murphy was who Boyle was initially chasing for the lead here.
Franco has about a dozen movies due for release over the next year or two. He has a small role in the Tina Fey/Steve Carrell comedy, "Date Night", plays the lead role in "Howl", Stars in Jay Anania's "In Praise of Shadows", and stars opposite Julia Roberts in "Eat, Pray, Love" - and that's just to name a few.
