One of the six or seven core cast members of “Twilight”? You can pretty much relax knowing you’ll be in work for the next couple of years (it’s only after that that you might need to don a giant sandwich board, or start a blog littered with Google Adsense, to make ends meet) – just as Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, Robert Pattinson, Golden Globe Nominee Anna Kendrick, Rachele Lefevere, or Kellan Lutz, whose fingers are likely blistered from all the contracts they’ve had to sign since the Summit series jizz-ed all over the box office.
Lutz, who plays good-guy vamp Emmett Cullen in the films, and who has a fairly plum role (actually, he has a great scene too – but I don’t want to spoil it for the few that are interested in seeing that flick) in the upcoming “Nightmare on Elm Street” redo, is emerging as one of the more in-demand constituents of the product line.
According to the always-dependable Mike Fleming, the 24-year-old actor is one of three lads in the mix to star in director Marcus ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Nispel’s “Conan the Barbarian” remake (the casting scoop is hidden in a story about Nu Image/Millennium Films’ Danny Dimbort departing the company).
When it begins filming in Bulgaria mid-March, the flick will either be headlined by Lutz, Jason Momoa (Ronon Dex in the TV series ‘’Stargate: Atlantis’’) or an unnamed newcomer (please be my client Shane Van Dyke! Please! I could go with 10% of THAT fee!) who has apparently only just heard from Lionsgate over the last 24 hours or so.
Whatever the case, sounds like we can expect an announcement shortly – and it wouldn’t at all surprise me if NuImage/Millennium try and get it on some of that “Twilight” coin by casting Lutz.
