Update! : Latino Review reports that Mickey Rourke has been offered the role of Conan's dad, Corin. Rourke recently worked with the film's producers on "The Expendables".
Despite a “Twilight” cast member (Kellan Lutz) being in the mix, Millennium have bravely decided to go with a relative unknown for the role of ‘Conan the Barbarian’ in the studio’s long-in-the-works remake of the classic Schwarzenegger pic.
Jason Momoa, a cast member on TVs “Stargate Atlantis”, will play Robert E. Howard’s mythical warrior hero in the Marcus Nispel-directed “Conan”.
Says Deadline Hollywood Daily, ‘’Sources said that director Marcus Nispel was sold on Momoa, and won over the filmmakers by shooting a few trial scenes that allowed Momoa to wield a sword and behave very Schwarzenegger-like.”
The pic lenses March 15 in Bulgaria.
