Update! A couple of weeks back we reported that Salma Hayek had dropped out of Dwayne Johnson's latest flick "Faster" due to a scheduling conflict. Variety reported today that Carla Gugino has replaced Hayek in the film. Gugino previously co-starred opposite Johnson in Disney's "Race to Witch Mountain" - which suggests he may have been the one to bring her onboard this latest project.

Salma Hayek has been forced to drop out of "Faster", the CBS films' flick that marks Dwayne Johnson's highly-welcomed return to action.

According to Nikki Fenke, the production needed to start earlier if it'd wanted to retain the services of the Latin beauty.

In the flick, which begins filming on the 8th, Johnson plays an ex-con bent on avenging the death of his brother, murdered 10 years earlier when the two were double-crossed during a heist.

Suitable replacements for Hayek need camp outside director George Tillman Jr's pad.
