Goyer back in Gotham

When it was announced last week that “FlashForward” showrunner David Goyer would be exiting the struggling science-fiction series, many automatically assumed, since Goyer worked on the previous two Batman films, that it was to spend time in Gotham City.

Deadline Hollywood has confirmed the assumptions. Goyer will put pen to paper on the sequel to “The Dark Knight”. He’ll share scripting duties with director Christopher Nolan’s brother Jonah.

Goyer, who came up with the storyline for "Batman Begins", had originally written a detailed treatment for three Batman films. The third film was to see The Joker return, but with Heath Ledger's untimely death, plans were obviously scrapped for the characters reprise.

Though nothing’s been confirmed, rumours suggest the next Batman flick will see Bruce the Billionaire doing battle with quiz-king The Riddler.
