The oft-rumoured "24" movie is inching forward  - or atleast it would seem that way, with Fox hiring "Shattered Glass" helmer/scribe Billy Ray to pen Jack Bauer's first big screen jaunt.

According to Variety, the studio will be looking at the ratings of "24"  - now in it's eighth, and likely final, season - over the next few weeks pretty closely - should they be of a pleasing level, the flick will be on. If the ratings take a sudden dip, it's as off as my recently-used oven.

Fox wants the "24" flick to be set in Europe.
