Tim Robbins will return to his comic-book roots (he, er, starred in "Howard the Duck" back in the day), signing to play Senator Hammond in director Martin Campbell's "Green Lantern".

Hammond is the father of Hector Hammond (Peter Sarsgaard), the film's villain.

"The Green Lantern", starring Ryan Reynolds in the title role and Blake Lively as love interest Carol Ferris, is scheduled for a March start in New Orelans.
