Roadside Attractions have announced a March 26th theatrical bow for “Ca$h”, the psychological thriller starring “Star Trek” and “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth.
The flick, written and directed by Stephen Milburn Anderson (”South Central”), also stars Sean Bean.
“While Sean Bean was hailed for his performance as Boromir in Lord of the Rings and carries a huge fan base in the U.S. and U.K., CA$H will mark his first lead role,†said producer Naveen Chathappuram of Australia’s Hemsworth. “We are pretty excited about that.â€
“Chris Hemsworth had been in the U.S. only a few weeks when he auditioned for CA$H. We saw immediate potential in him, and CA$H became his first film,†added Anderson.
“Ca$h”, we’re told, “is a quirky psychological thriller that explores the role money plays in a bad economy. When a struggling young couple, Sam (Chris Hemsworth) and Leslie Phelan (Victoria Profeta) find a suitcase full of cash, they think their luck will take a turn for the better—until the strange and sinister criminal Pyke Kubic (Sean Bean) arrives at their doorstep, looking to collect what he believes is rightfully his. What follows is an action-packed adventure through the streets of Chicago as the three are pulled deeper and deeper into a desperate spiral of deception and violence… All in the name of cash. Joining Anderson and Chathappuram is executive producer Prema Thekkek.”
Roadside and the filmmakers have collaborated with www.Eventful.com/cashfilm to offer moviegoers a chance to “Demand†the film and cash in on $2,500.
“We couldn’t title a movie Ca$h without having some real cash involved,†said Thekkek. “In these economic times, we wanted a creative way to reach out to the audience. Eventful was the perfect method of doing so while bringing in one of the themes prevalent in CA$H, the economy.â€
Including “Chicago Fire”, “The New Normal”, “Ben and Kate” and “Go On”
