Diaz, Timberlake together again

Justin Timberlake will play the lead role in “Bad Teacher”, the Cameron Diaz-starring comedy from “Walk Hard” helmer Jake Kasdan.

The duo previously worked together on “Shrek the Third”.

The film, penned by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, follows a foul-mouthed, gold-digging seventh-grade teacher (Diaz) who, after being dumped by her boyfriend, sets her sights on a colleague (Lucy Punch) who is dating a substitute teacher (Timberlake) who also is the scion of a watch fortune.

Timberlake, says The Hollywood Reporter, bet “Soup” presenter Joel McHale, Adam Scott (“Piranha”), Australia’s Guy Pearce, Timothy Olyphant, John Krasinski and Cheyenne Jackson to the part of the substitute teach.

“Bad Teacher”, also starring Jason Segel and John Michael Higgins, begins filming this month in Los Angeles.
