Steve Martin’s into Birds

Steve Martin looks set to join Jack Black and Owen Wilson in Fox2000′s “The Big Year”.

Based on Mark Obmascik’s 1998 book “The Big Year: A Tale of Man, Nature and Fowl Obsession,” the flick will tell of three men who participate in a bird-watching competition – trying to one-up one another with their spottings of the best winged creatures.

The pic, to be directed by David Frankel (“Marley & Me”), will lens in Canada.
