Edi Cathegi, who plays evil neck-nibbler Laurent in the “Twilight” series, will play the first bi-racial mutant in 20th Century Fox’s “X-Men : First Class”. According to Deadline, Cathegi’s character ‘Darwin’ has ”the power of “reactive evolution,” which allows him to adapt to any situation or environment. Plunged underwater, he’ll grow gills, he’ll gain night vision in pitch black and his skin grows fire retardant when burned.” Cathegi joins Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy, Alice Eve, Nicholas Hoult, Jennifer Lawrence, Caleb Landy Jones and Kevin Bacon in the Matthew Vaughn-directed prequel to Bryan Singer’s “X-Men”.
