Seems rumours of the Weinstein’s demise have been greatly exaggerated – or, Bob and Harvey have great connections at Hollywood Reporter.
No, in all seriousness, “Scream 4″ (and, to a lesser extent, “Piranha 3D”) will probably make a big enough dent to help the troubled tyrants stay afloat a little longer. And with Ghostface playing a part in the rescue mission, no surprise then to hear that The Weinstein Company have announced they’re dusting off some other previously-profitable horror franchises.Among the horror relaunches in the company’s future, “Hellraiser”, “Children of the Corn”, “Scary Movie” (well, suppose it’s not a horror franchise – but it’s a piss-take of one), and “Halloween”. Yep, the company has been working at getting all those up for a couple of years now but should “Scream 4″ hit big next April, and it likely will, Bob and Harvey will be busting open piggy and sending those paper boats down the stream. Guaranteed.
Imagine we will start hearing about these ones sooner rather than later.
