2 He may be a hero, but John McClane’s no superhero -- just an ordinary blue collar stiff with a big heart and a ‘never say die’ attitude. No super powers, no ingenious gadgets, no flashy cars, no martial arts skills, no bulging biceps -- nothing but two fists, his service weapon, and his wits.

3 John McClane is seriously flawed: he drinks to excess, smokes too much, swears too much, and has no respect for authority, especially when it’s throwing its weight around.
