“Supernatural” stud Jared Padalecki looks set to go where, um, well, every other teenage actor seems to head – straight into a teen-friendly horror movie (Not that I blame any of them; they probably pay Ok, but more so, what else are they going to do? You don’t start at the top, after all. Joaquin Phoenix didn’t start out playing Johnny Cash, ya know, he kicked off his career in the kiddies sci-fi flick “Spacecamp”. So give it time Jared, you’ll be John Lennon before you’re 34. Maybe). The one-time Stars Hollow resident will share a screen with hockey-masked Jason Voorhees in the upcoming “Friday the 13th” remake, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
According to the trade, Padalecki will play the lead, “who investigates what happened up at Crystal Lake”. Now, does that mean he’s playing a young cop? Or maybe a reporter? Maybe he’s the brother of one of those big-tittied girlies that’s been sliced down the middle by poor misunderstood Jase?
Padalecki previously appeared in – two other horror movies – “House of Wax” and “Cry Wolf” (both shite).
I dunno about this “Friday the 13th” remake…. But I guess I’ll find out soon enough whether my nagging suspicion that it’ll be about as exciting as, well, every other Michael Bay-produced remake is spot-on.. it’s due out next Feb.
