Ramius here,
I'm holding the fort whilst Clint deals with some family issues.
'Dan' checks in from Nova Scottia to let us know he ran into Donald Sutherland. Apparently our friend had the chance to chat the Don, albeit briefly, and got some dirt out of the actor about some of the offers he's had presented to him in recent times.
This was the bit that interested me - being the Stallone fan of the site - the most :
"Sly's been looking at his vault I guess, and called me up this once asking for my input on a remake or sequel [to "Lock Up"]. I was kind of iffy on it. You see that one?" I said yes, "Good stuff''. Yeah, the ending to that didn't leave much of a part for me in a second run now did it?'
Do I think Stallone's considering a sequel to "Lock Up"? He probably was, for about five minutes, and may have asked Sutherland for his thoughts. I doubt though that any studio would be willing to bankroll a sequel to that movie though - it made about a fifth of what "Rocky 5" did, and we all know how hard it was for Sly to get "Rocky Balboa" up. Maybe try that "Cliffhanger 2" angle, Sly?
The Cape Breton Post also had an opportunity to chat to Sutherland whilst in Nova Scottia.
Helix Digital Inc. president Richard Lorway was reluctant to talk about Sutherland’s visit because it’s a potential business opportunity for his firm.“We’re in the television business ourselves and we were talking about a potential project with a company that he’s a part of,” Lorway said. “He’s looking for a Nova Scotian studio. They’re just looking and seeing who is in the business in Nova Scotia of doing what we do.”
Sutherland, 72, was spotted on Argyle Street in Halifax, Monday with representatives from Collideascope Digital Productions, the largest animation studio in Eastern Canada.
