Has Brandon Routh just been handed a stick of Kryptonite by the producers of the upcoming “The Informers”?
The “Superman Returns” star was playing a ‘vampire’ in the film version of the Bret Easton Ellis novel, but according to one of the actors, Jon Foster, all the mythical creatures that were originally in the film, like the vampires, have been excised from the latest cut.
As a consequence, one could assume Routh’s role has been dumped from the movie.
"There are no more vampires. They took the vampires out. There are no zombies or monsters either”, Foster told IGN Movies. "This is more about the narcissistic side of people's characters. God knows why they took the vampire characters out. I can't say if I was pleased or displeased, that is just the way it is."
Since Ellis himself co-wrote the screenplay for “Informers”, he might’ve even cut the vampires from the film himself – for some reason.
Australia’s Gregor Jordan (“Ned Kelly”) directed the movie, which stars Kim Basinger, Billy Bob Thornton, Brad Renfro and Winona Ryder.
