Had a chat to SFX guru Alec Gillies ["Superman Returns"] recently, who gushed about a litle flick called "Alpha Dog" that he has been doing some gimmickery for.
"It’s based on a true story that happened right in our area, where our studio is and where I live, about some kids that kidnap another kid and murder him", Gillies tells. "[It's] A true story – it’s one of the most gut wrenching scripts that I’ve read. Got a great cast – Sharon Stone is in it, Bruce Willis, Justin Timberlake and a bunch of people that my daughter recognizes but I don’t. But we’re doing some make-up effects for that, and having a good time with it", he says, adding that Timberlake's as fine-as-silver in the film.
Co-star Bruce Willis obviously thinks dancing-man Timberlake 'has got it' because he's gunning for Britney's one-time beau to join him for the next "Die Hard".
An insider tells Moviehole that Willis and Timberlake apparently got along like cats to a plush toy on the set of "Alpha" - and now, Willis is trying to coax him into playing his on-screen son in "Die Hard 4.0".
John Jr, John McClane's son, was featured in the original "Die Hard". In the next film, he'll be older - and with sister Lucy (the part Jessica Simpson auditioned for last year) gets entangled in Dad's latest adventure.
"The 'Edge of The City' script that featured the amazon jungle contained John Jr., with McClane searching for him", says our scooper. "This 'Worldwar3.com. plot has supposed computer warfare and apparently contains both John Jr and Lucy McClane", he adds, noting that Timberlake is under consideration, but not a lock.
Ben Affleck was rumoured to be in the running to play McClane's son - but the studio are (and not surprisingly) looking for someone with a bit more 'pull' at the moment.
Interesting.
On a side note, and while we're talking Bruno, apparently "Sin City" put quite a few bums on seats this weekend - so much so that they're already talking about bringing Frank Miller's "A Dame to Kill For" and "Family Values" to the screen, serving as sequels.
